Volunteer with us on real cases!

What does it look like to volunteer with Arise? We expand capacity around the country by training and equipping advocates to serve immigrants (mostly asylum-seekers) through real, live casework. You can help us work a case from the comfort of your own home and under the close supervision of a seasoned immigration attorney that can help you use your own talents to serve others. What does this mean, practically? If you’re working on an asylum case, you can expect to 1) work on a team with a supervising lawyer and other newer advocates, 2) dedicate 2-4 hours/week working on the case over a span of 2-8 months (please note that these are estimates, but we can work with you to figure out a reasonable plan), 3) get to know—and help!—a brave individual (or possibly a family) that fled horrific circumstances with the hope of a better, safer future in the U.S. and 4) learn about humanitarian law, advocacy, and your own capacity to make an extraordinary difference through this work.

If you would like to apply to volunteer with us, please send an e-mail to info@ariseimmigration.org and include:

  1. Your resume

  2. A 1-3 paragraph explanation of 1) why you want to volunteer with us, 2) if you intend to work/volunteer to help immigrants with their legal cases in the future, 3) any language abilities, and 4) your schedule (i.e. when you’d be available for virtual weekly or bi-weekly meetings with a team from Arise) (no cover letter is needed)

We are thrilled to be shaping the next generation of advocates for immigrants!
